New Vintage 1981 Martin Guitar Neck Unfinished Training Sample From Nazareth PA Factory
Here is a real oddity. Recently I have been able to offer a few rare items from the original Gibson Kalamazoo factory.
The same collector has offered to sell this piece from the Nazareth, PA Martin factory. Being a guitar builder himself he inquired about the woods and technics used while visiting the Martin factory. During the tour Martin offered him a few production items they thought he might find interesting.
This is a OOO-18 neck and unfinished.
The neck joint is finished, along with truss rod slot and head overlay. The neck is one-piece Mahogany. 20 3/4 long, final carving dictates the final width.
Could be used to customize that model by finishing the job or as a very rare keepsake from the factory.
Hand written on neck OOO-18, 24.9 inch scale, 14 fret.
These partials were used to train new workers by giving them a sample to work from and sometimes shown to customers back in the days of the factory delivery.
Condition is new old stock. 100% Authentic.
