Description

1969 Fender Stratocaster Neck.
Very good shape considering it’s age! Great piece of wood, comfortable, sounds great!
Nice dry 52-year old piece of maple and rosewood;  light as a feather!
The writing on the heel of neck: 22  483  11 9 B. According to Fender Archives, Here is what those figures mean:
22: Stratocaster
483: batch or lot code
11: the month of November
9: the year 1969
B: neck width, “B” is normal
Other facts that point to its authenticity: The Fender logo: it’s black. It was changed from thin gold script to black in 1968.
This is the larger headstock, which appeared in  1967.
There is no  “Made in USA” stamped anywhere; everything that Fender made back then was in America!
There is no contrasting wood strip ( “skunk stripe” ) on  the back of this neck; that appeared in 1970.
There you have it. This is NOT from the Custom Shop at Fender; this neck left the Fender factory in 1969.
Some considerations:
As you can tell from the pictures, part of the logo was scratched out.
The fingerboard  was re-fretted.
The Kluson tuners  are not original, but from a custom shop relic  Strat from 1960
All four mounting  screw holes have been filled and were re-drilled at some point .
BUT . . .
Everything else is  original and sounds great and feels great! It will fit any standard size Fender Stratocaster or  Jazzmaster!
